Valve housing
This project was a part of a larger system being developed by Boundless AM to improve sampling methods in the mining industry.
The lave housing is made from 316 stainless steel, and similar to the manifold project was a use case that intended to leverage the advantages of additive manufacturing. The design of the valve housing incorporated internal chambers, an integrated support and reinforcement geometry to remove the need for support structure therefore reducing post processing and cost.
The scope of this system was much larger than just the valve housing. Various technologies were used in its development including CNC milling, laser cutting, tube laser cutting, aluminium extrusion, sheet metal assemblies, weld met assemblies and IOT elements.
